FAQ
-
what is damascus steel?
Damascus steel is a type of forged steel known for its distinctive wavy patterns, created by layering and folding multiple types of steel.
Our knives combine high-carbon steel for sharpness and durability with aesthetic appeal, making each blade a functional work of art.
-
What are your knives made of?
Our handcrafted Damascus steel knives are forged from premium high-carbon and stainless steel alloys (depending on the blade), layered to create the iconic wavy pattern.
Most of our blades are made with high-carbon 1095 steel for durability and 15N20 steel for sharpness. Handles are crafted from materials such as hardwoods, bone, resin, micarta and pakka wood, chosen for comfort and durability.
Each knife is unique, with slight variations in pattern.

-
How do I care for my damascus steel knife?
Proper care ensures your knife’s longevity and performance:
Clean Immediately: Hand-wash with mild soap and warm water after use. Never use a dishwasher, as it can damage the blade and handle.
Dry Thoroughly: Wipe completely dry to prevent rust, as high-carbon steel is susceptible to corrosion.
Hone Regularly: Use a honing rod weekly to maintain the edge; sharpen with a whetstone every few months. Check out our sharpening supplies in our shop.
Oil Lightly: Apply food-safe mineral oil to the blade for storage to protect against moisture. Check out our knife wax in our shop.
Store Properly: Keep in a dry environment, such as a wooden magnetic board or knife drawer, to avoid humidity and damage.
DO NOT STORE LONG-TERM IN LEATHER SHEATH. ONLY MEANT FOR TRANSPORTATION PURPOSES.

Our knives are handcrafted by our team of blade smiths and skilled artisans using traditional forging techniques.
Multiple layers of steel are folded and hammered to create the signature Damascus pattern, then meticulously sharpened and fitted with high-quality handles.
-
Can I put my knives in the dishwasher?
No, dishwashers can damage the blade’s edge, cause rust, and degrade the handle.
Always hand-wash and dry your Damascus steel knife immediately after use.
-
How do I maintain the sharpness of my knife?
Regularly hone your knife with a honing rod to keep the edge aligned.
For sharpening, use a whetstone or professional sharpening service every few months, depending on usage.
Avoid abrasive surfaces like glass or ceramic cutting boards to preserve the edge.
We recommend soft wood magnet and cutting boards to preserve the edge of your knife.
-
How do I store my knives safely?
Store your knife in a dry environment to prevent rust:
Wooden Magnetic Board: Keeps the blade secure and allows air circulation.
Knife Drawer or Sheath: Use individual slots to avoid contact with other knives.
Avoid loose storage in drawers, as this can dull or damage the blade. -
Are your knives suitable for chefs?
